Love Me Beauty vs You Beauty Discovery March 2014

I've been on the hunt for a new beauty box recently, after a disappointing Glossybox this month I want to try another box (as well as Glossybox of course). After much consideration I couldn't decide between the Love Me Beauty box and the You Beauty Discovery box, I decided to try both boxes for a few months to see which one I prefer.

Love Me Beauty Box (£10 plus £2.95 p+p)
The Love Me Beauty box is priced at £10 each month plus £2.95 p+p. The Love Me Beauty Box works slightly different compared to other beauty boxes as this service allows you to pick your box from the different menus that vary slightly in products, this month I went for edition 2. It contained the Nip+Fab Post Workout Fix, Murad Pore & Line Minimizing Hydrator, BlanX White Shock Toothpaste, Deeep Steep Moisture Stick in 'Honeydew Spearmint', Quintessentially English Bath Salts in 'SummerSolstice' and the Vintage Cosmetic Company False Lashes in 'Gracie'. Overall I'm really impressed with this box as it contains a wide range of products and has a promised value of over £35.  The products are all something I would definitely use and are great sample sizes with a few full sized products thrown in there too. If the products next month are as good I will definitely consider getting this every month.

You Beauty Discovery Box (£6.95 including p+p)
The You Beauty Discovery box is a similar concept to the Love Me Beauty box, each month you select two products from the selection of products plus they throw in a few extras as well. The You Beauty Discovery box is priced at £6.95 including p+p. This month I chose the Beautylab Glyco Face Wash and the Paul Mitchell Dry Wash. The box also contained two tea bags by Dragonfly Tea in the flavours in Moroccan Mint and Cape Malay Rooibos Chai and toe separators by The Vintage Cosmetic Company. I'm still undecided about this box, its a nice little box for the price but the toe separators are a bit of a let down for me.

What Beauty Box do you recommend?

Glossybox March 2014

I wasn't too sure whether I was excited this month when I received my Glossybox having had a cheeky look at what some people got it just seemed a bit blah to me. The theme this month is Beauty Blossom, a box to prepare you for the upcoming spring. The box design itself this month is just the usual glossy pink.

Glossybox March 2014 (£10 a month plus £3.25 p+p)

Sleek Pout Polish in the shade Bonaire (£4.49)
At first this seemed like such an exciting product too me. The colour I got was a bright orange in the shade Bonaire which is limited edition and seems to be no longer available which is disappointing; being a fan of orange lips I couldn't wait to try this out. When swatching this product it has no pigmentation to it at all and pretty much comes up sheer on both my hand and lips, extremely disappointed. This Pout Polish also has a bizarre long lasting smell and taste to it which is kind of a bit off putting. Definitely not a fan of this product.

Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 Week Tan Lotion (£37.50 for 150ml)
The next product I got is the Vita Liberata Tan Lotion, as much as I cant wait to try out this tanning lotion the 6ml sample size is ridiculous and I'm never going to get a full body tan out of  this. As much as I love the concept of being able to try out this tan before you buy the full size the sample size is way to small for me. They do this tanning lotion in the shades fair, medium and dark (I'm unaware of what shade these samples are as it does not say on the packaging). The tan is currently on offer for £25 at boots at the moment.

Bellapierre Cosmetics Ltd Shimmer Powders in the shade Coral Reef (£12.99)
The only stand out product in the box this month by the looks of things. I got the Bellapierre Shimmer Powder in the shade Coral Reef, its a lovely yellow, orange, golden colour which will look lovely used as eye shadow or a highlighter. This retails for £12.99 and I can't wait to incorporate this into some eye looks.

Dove Hair Therapy Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot (£1.69 for 15ml)
I've never used any products from the Dove Hair Therapy range before so it'll be great to give this a try. I suffer from dry ends so this Intensive Repair 60 Second Treatment Shot should hopefully help that out. This one use treatment will be great to take on holiday with me instead of needing to bring a whole tub of hair mask, I look forward to using this.

Mitchell and Peach Body Cream (£36 for 180ml)
This is by far the most disappointing product I received this month.  Described as an indulgent body cream and at £36 for 180ml it really does seem like it should be luxury. However this body cream smells like Lavender something I'm not a fan of and when applied leaves a sticky residue on the skin. I will definitely be passing this onto someone else that may like it.

What did you think of Glossybox this month?
What did you guys receive?

Models Own HyperGel

Models Own HyperGel in shades Pink Veneer and Cornflower Gleam (£5)

Nail polish rarely lasts more than a day on my nails so when Models Own released the HyperGel range I knew I'd be picking up a couple of shades.  Described as 'highly pigmented and enriched with lotus flower oil, the gel-like finish gives the professional shine of a salon manicure' I was hoping that the polish would last a good couple of days. When applying Pink Veneer I only needed two coats to get it fully opaque which is super impressive for a pale shade. The finish definitely lives up to its high shine claim however after less than a day it was already starting to peel off my nails and had tip wear on most of my nails (disappointing much?!). The colour selection in the range is lovely but I definitely won't be picking up any more shades.

What do you think of the Models Own HyperGel range?

Weekend in London

This weekend I went up to London with friends. On Friday we went to Move It at Olympia. If you don't know what Move It is, it's a dance exhibition that takes place once a year around the first week of March; as dance students we couldn't not go.You can partake in classes, watch performances from professional companies and colleges and browse round the stalls whilst grabbing a bargain from the discounted dance wear. It was lovely to be able to spend the day in London with my friends and we had so much fun taking part in the Dance Inc. Ambassadors class. We got to see amazing performances including the beautiful Lukas McFarlane with the debut of his new company Untitled. He is so beautiful. On Sunday I met up with an old friend from school to go shopping on Oxford Street and see Ellie Goulding at the O2. Before the show we got to go into the Sky Lounge which is a bar located at the back of the stage, they opened the curtain so we could see into the arena which was super cool, we hung out there for a while before heading to our seats. All I need to say is that Ellie was amazing.

Hope you guys had a great weekend too.
Have any of you ever been to Move It?

Lush Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb

I have a love, hate relationship with Lush and their products. As much as I love the effect of Lush products the price of them is just scarily high so anything from Lush is a definitely a once a month treat for me. I rarely get to browse around Lush so whilst shopping with a friend a few days ago I took the opportunity to have a look around and treat myself to a bath bomb.
Lush Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb (£3.25)
In the end I decided to go for the Phoenix Rising bath bomb, which is lovely purple shade with gold shimmer throughout. The main scent in this bath bomb is cinnamon, which is what influenced my choice to buying this bath bomb. Cinnamon is my all time favourite scent. Phoenix Rising also has a spicy chocolate scent to it that lingers around the bathroom for hours, when dropped into the bath the purple bomb fizzed away to leave my bath water a lovely purple pink colour. The cinnamon stick was a lovely touch. After having my bath my skin felt lovely and soft with a slight scent similar to the Palmer's coca butter moisturiser and a hint of cinnamon.

Have you tried the Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb?
What's your favourite Lush product?
