Glossybox May 2014

This month's Glossybox is a collaboration with Superdrug to help celebrate Glossybox's  third birthday and Superdrug's fiftieth birthday. I had high hopes for this birthday box and whilst it wasn't a bad box it wasn't one I was overly pleased with either, most of the products seemed a bit cheap to me compared to what others received in their box and I felt a bit let down as a full sized product for £1.29 didn't seem like it was suitable to put in a luxury beauty box.
Glossybox May 2014 (£10 per month plus £3.25 p+p)

Superdrug Large Doughnut Ring in Black (£4.99)
This is the first product I received this month and probably the best, I'm always styling my hair in a bun and have never actually used one before so this will be great to try out. I would have preferred a slightly  lighter colour due to my hair being a light brown but once my hair covers it you can't see the black so it's not a major problem.

2true 3D Candy Nail Art in Cassis (£3)
I used to use 2true as a make up brand when I was about 12 and is certainly not a brand I am interested in now, it seems a bit cheap and not that great quality to me but I'm going to give this 3D Candy Nail Art a go and compare it to the Ciate Caviar beads to see if it is a good dupe, a possible blog post coming soon.

I Love Cosmetics Strawberries & Milkshake Shimmer & Shine Lip Gloss (£1.29) (Can't find the link for this sorry!)
I was a bit sceptical when receiving this product, priced at £1.29 I thought it might be not that great due to the very cheap price point. But I was wrong, it's a lovely gloss that is pretty much sheer on the lips so works great as a clear gloss and it smells divine.

Solait Illuminating Facial Bronzing Cream (£2.99) (Couldn't find the link for this either sorry!)
Another self tanning product this time for the face. Worst product in the box for me by far, having acne prone skin I always avoid products like this as they tend to break me out. This product is definitely going to a different home.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara (£6.99)
A nice product to receive in this month's box, not the best mascara I have ever used but it's a nice enough mascara that does add a nice curl to my lashes.

Garnier Oil Beauty Lotion (£4.99 for 250ml) Ghost Fragrances Eclipse (£33 for 50ml)
Lovely little extras to this month's Glossybox and I look forward to giving these a try.

What did you receive in this month's Glossybox?
Can you recommend any other beauty boxes?

April Favourites 2014

Its that time of the month again for another monthly favourites. My favourites this month are all must have  everyday staples that get me through the day, I've also got a food item thrown in this month as well.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation (£9.99)
This has got to be my all time favourite high street foundation of the ones I've tried so far. It leaves a gorgeous glow to the skin whilst effectively covering those nasty eye bags, scarring and pimples. However this foundation is on the thick side so can look rather cakey if not blended in properly so a buffing brush with this foundation is a must.

Clayspray Brightening White Clay with Ginseng Masque (from £15)
I received this face mask in this months You Beauty Discovery Box and was super excited, I'd always heard good things about Clayspray face masks but never got round to trying them. It may sound weird but when I apply the face mask it actually feels like it's doing something rather than just sitting on top of my face, it really works at getting all the gunk out from under my skin leaving it clear and smooth.

Lush Superbalm (£12)
I get really bad eczema on my scalp and I'm always looking for something to prevent it and sooth it. I brought the Lush superbalm about two months ago a bit sceptical as too whether it would actually work or not. All I can say is it's been a life saver this past month at soothing my scalp and keeping a flare up at bay. This little beauty is my hair hero, with the coconut oil it also has helped make my hair silky soft and strong.

Mac Cosmetics Lipstick Cremesheen finish in Creme Cup
When I went to the Mac store a month or so ago I had no intention of buying this lipstick, I'd never really given this lipstick much attention when on the hunt for the perfect pink nude lipstick but when the girl in Mac recommended it for me I couldn't help but fall in love with it and pick it up. This gorgeous pale pink shade is the perfect nude for me, an everyday essential in my eyes.

Benefit Brow Zings in Medium
I apologise how messy this is but surely it proves just how much I love this product, I've had my brow zings for well over a year now and I'm nowhere near running out besides using it everyday. I've tried other brow products before but nothing compares to this, definitely a holy grail product.

Yo Yo Bear Fruit Rolls in Blackcurrant
I can't stop eating these Yo Yo Fruit Rolls this month, they make such a great snack as they are super yummy and filling. What's more is they count as 1 of your 5 a day, cant get any better than that. Who care's if they are aimed for kids, they taste good!

What are your favourites this month?
