Bootea 14 Day Teatox Review

Let's start of by saying that this post may contain some things that may seem a bit TMI but when starting the Bootea teatox and looking at reviews I had all these personal questions that I wanted to know about it and some people just didn't cover that. I finally gave in and brought the 14 day Teatox after seeing all the positive reviews and several promising looking before and after pictures. I brought the tea mainly as I wanted to detox my body before my birthday and my dance shows to help reduce my bloating so I could look good in my dance leotards for my shows and my outfit for my birthday.

I'm going to start of by saying whilst Bootea promises to help you lose weight by no means is it a permeant solution to weight loss, it should only be used every so often. If a long time weight loss is what you are after then a healthy lifestyle is what you need. This teatox contains two different types of tea, a 'Daytime' and a 'Nightime'. Each tea is different in ingredients and will benefit your body in different ways. Bootea offers two different teatox's, either the 14 day teatox (21 teabags) or the 28 day teatox (42 teabags).

The daytime detox tea is a tea you drink every morning, containing ingredients such as Lemongrass, Ginger Root, Gotu Kota and Dandelion Leaf. It reminds me of a slightly more lemony/ herbal version of green tea. The one thing I loved about this tea is definitely the taste, I'm a big fan of herbal teas and would happily drink this tea all the time for its flavour. The purpose of the morning detox tea is the boost your metabolism and contains a small amount of caffeine to give you energy throughout the day. The daytime detox also claims to suppress your appetite and reduce cravings.

The bedtime cleanse tea is a laxative tea that you drink every other night throughout the teatox. The tea contains ingredients including Senna Leaves, Fenugreek Seeds and Peppermint which all work as a natural laxative to 'flush you out' and cleanse your body of all the nasty toxins. The tea tastes very similar to just plain old peppermint tea so nothing too fancy if you are you are fussy when it comes to tea.

Both teas are recommended to be infused in boiling water for around 5 minutes, after I've taken the tea bag out I always like to top my tea up with cold water to make it a drinkable temperature.

My personal experience, did Bootea work for me?

As I said previously I absolutely loved the taste of these teas and would happily drink them every day if I could and they are easy teas to make, all the leaves are inside a tea bag with a string so there is no faffing around with tea strainers etc. I can't say I really noticed any laxative effects with this tea however it did make me bloated and I got rather bad abdominal pains some days. Overall I did lose 3 pounds in the 2 weeks but that easily could have been just the variation of your daily weight as I didn't see any other change to my body.

Would I buy Bootea again?

No, I most probably wouldn't purchase this tea again just because it didn't exactly see any positive detoxing effects and at £19.99 for two weeks worth of tea its rather pricey for a tea I just like the taste of.

Bootea is available from Holland & Barrett and bootea.com

Have you ever tried Bootea? What did you think of it?

Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette Swatches and Review

I had £30 to spend in the Birchbox Shop and what better way to spend it than on the new Laura Mercier Contour Palette. At a great £35 this is worth every penny, I love this contour palette. I've been recently getting really into contouring, starting to branch out into using cream products rather than the traditional powder products. With three contour colours and two highlight shades this is a super versatile palette. However I'm not exactly the palest at NC20 and the light shade is the perfect contour colour for me, so if you are any lighter than that then it may be a tad too dark for you.

The product itself is amazingly creamy and pigmented as you can see from the swatches so a little goes a long way, it takes a bit of work to blend but with a good brush it leaves a smooth, even finish. The palette contains some handy product cards tucked behind the mirror with plenty of tips and tricks to help you master the art of contouring. Whilst I love this palette I seem to be reaching for my Smashbox Contour sticks a lot more than this, they tend to be easier and quicker making them much more convenient. Is this palette worth it? If you are big contour fan and a makeup junkie then yes, I would recommend this palette as it is one of the better contouring products out there. If you are new to contouring then I'd probably go for something else simply because of how pigmented it actually is it can be a bit daunting and rather scary to use.

It was my 18th birthday last Sunday and I wanted to share with you guys a few pictures from my day. Then lets discuss how amazing my birthday cake is! I am so in love I just didn't want to cut it. I had such a lovely time celebrating my 18th.

Cohorted Box May 2015

After seeing so many reviews about the Cohorted box I knew I needed it in my life. With it being my birthday this month I thought I'd treat myself and made it my mission to get my hands on a box this month. Admittedly it took me around 25 minutes and a lot of refreshing to get the box it was worth it. However I know a lot of people missed out because the site crashed for them. Hopefully this is something they are working on and everyone will be able to get there hands on a Cohorted box.

The value of this month's box is worth a whooping £92.50, when it only cost £20 plus p+p this is a real steal. I love high end makeup and this box is a great way of trying high end brands I might not necessarily go for. The box itself is presented well, with a sleek black box, a magnetic closure and secured with a black ribbon.

Cargo Cosmetics Vintage Escape Eyeshadow Palette (RRP £35)
I don't own anything from Cargo Cosmetics but have heard great things so seeing this in the box was a massive hit. Receiving a FULL SIZED palette in a beauty box is incredible especially when its valued a £35. This palette is a great and unique neutral palette, unlike anything I own. Whilst the colours are fairly neutral it has some great coloured shadows that don't seem too scary to use. When swatching this product the shadows seem incredibly creamy and pigmented, the palette also contains a dual ended shadow brush.

Dolce & Gabbana Lace Nail Lacquer in Perfection 220 (£19)
Seeing Dolce & Gabbana in a beauty box is so exciting, I think my heart skipped a beat when I saw everyone was going to receive this D&G Nail Lacquer in 220 Perfection. I'm a big fan of nude nails at the moment so this shade is perfect for me. I don't own any high end polish so I can't wait to test it out to see if it's a much better formula than my drug store ones.

Too Faced Exotic Color Eyeshadow in Poison Orchid (RRP £15)
Whilst I love Too Faced I was a bit skeptical about this Exotic Color Eyeshadow. In the pan the shadow looks crazily purple but when swatched it almost transforms into this navy shadow with a strong purple glitter running throughout. The shadow is pigment and blends easily onto the skin.

Michael Kors Lip Lacquer in Dame (RRP £23.50)
I love Michael Kors bags and watches so it's awesome to receive a Michael Kors lipstick. I'm a massive lipstick fan so of course you can never have too many. This lip lacquer in 'Dame' looks scarily dark in the tube but when swatched it is a lot sheerer, swatching as this beautiful berry colour with a red glitter throughout. Whilst it is quite a sheer lipstick, it is very smooth so can easily be built without going patchy as I find some sheer lipsticks do.

Cohorted a releasing a limited amount of the June box on the 1st June at 6pm. Make sure you are there, you don't want to miss out.

Did you manage to get your hands on the Cohorted box?
What do you think of it?

Birchbox May 2015

This month's Birchbox is definitely a great box both inside and out. This month's theme is Free Your Mind and features a box which you can customise yourself. This month's box contains colouring pencils so you can colour in your Birchbox to fit to your own taste! Word of warning though, it takes absolutely ages to colour the box in. I spent a good number of hours in front of the TV colouring my box in, with all the college work and stuff I have going on at the moment it was great to actually take some time out to colour in the box. This month's products fit the theme perfectly, the WAH London nail products add a great injection of colour into the box whilst the skincare products allow you to create a great skin base.

Birchbox May 2015 (£10 per month plus £2.95 p+p)

WAH London Press On Nails (£9 in the colour Frog Poole)
This month you could pick your WAH London  product. You could either receive a nail art pen, polish or press on nails. I went for the press on nails as I own way too many polishes. How fun are these nails though? They are so fun and bright. I was a bit worried receiving these nails as I have quite wide nails and was scared they wouldn't fit but you get 12 different sizes so they fit everyone. I can't wait to wear these stand out nails. I'm celebrating my birthday on a night out in around a weeks time and these stand out nails will look great with a little black dress. I received the pattern Frog Poole.

Jelly Pong Pong Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo in Martinique (£15.95)
This handy little duo compact by Jelly Pong Pong contains both a blusher and bronzer. Whilst the blush is a little glittery for my liking, both the blusher and bronzer are smooth, creamy and very pigmented.

Parlor by Jeff Chastain Moisturising Sea Salt Spray (£17)  & Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Reconstructing Masque (£36)
The two hair products in this month's Birchbox are the Parlor Moisturising Sea Salt Spray and the Number 4 Lumiere d'Hiver Reconstructing Masque. The Parlor Sea Salt Spray contains both almond oil and algae to keeps your hair nourished whilst adding texture, plus it smells like fruit! The Number 4 reconstructing masque contains soy protein, Shea butter, sunflower seed and jojoba seed oil to leave the hair smooth, strengthened and shiny as well as bringing dull hair back to life. You only need to leave the mask on for between 2-5 minutes so is great if your hair needs some serious moisture but you are crunched for time. I have quite a lot of hair so will probably only get one use out of this sachet.

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser in Light (£27)
I've received several Caudalie products from the Vinoperfect range from previous beauty boxes and love the Day Perfecting Fluid so I'm excited to give the Tinted Moisturiser a go. I'm starting to get into lighter coverage since my skin has been improving (touchwood!) so this will be perfect for those days I fancy a more natural look. This tinted moisturiser not only covers up imperfections but has the benefits of a skincare product too, claiming to both treat and brighten the skin.
Absolution Youth Activator Mask (£27)
I love a good face mask so it's always nice to receive one. This moisturising mask by Absolution hydrates the skin by replenishing the skin's water levels. My skin has been a bit a dry recently especially around my nose area so anything that will bring my skin back to life and normal again will be appreciated. This mask has a lovely natural smell to it, it smells very herbal.

In order to colour in your Birchbox this month Birchbox added these colouring pencils as a cute little extra to colour in your box exactly how you want it. I had great fun colouring in my box, using all the bright colours really lifted my mood.

What do you think of this months Birchbox?

Mini Haul May 2015

I first want to apologise for the lack of posts in the last few weeks, I was beginning to do really well at posting regularly but college work has just got the better of me this past month as I finish in just two weeks. As usual I have left it last minute and I have lots to work to do. I did take some time out on the bank holiday however and of course went shopping. I just wanted to show you guys what I picked up.

I made the most of Bank Holiday Monday this week and went shopping with my mum to pick up a few bits.  The three clothing items are bits I all picked up from New Look, including this gorgeous dress from AX Pari. The yellow floral print will make it great for any summer wedding or a garden party, the other two basic tops will look great thrown together with some black skinny jeans and some pretty sandals.

With my final college dance shows coming up I decided to pick up the BooTea 14 Day Teatox after hearing good reviews about it. I thought my body could do with a detox before my shows to give me plenty of energy and reduce bloating. I'm about 4 days in now and haven't noticed any of the claims to be true just yet but I will do a full review on this product once I have finished the 14 days. The tea itself however tastes great!

I've been looking at picking up a Chanel foundation for ages now so I finally took the plunge and brought the Vitalumiere Aqua foundation in the shade B20. I tested this out in store to make sure the colour was correct and the coverage was something I would be happy with, upon this the lovely girl used the Chanel Hydra Beauty Creme Moisturiser on me. I was after a new moisturiser that day and couldn't resist splurging on this, it smelt amazing and that was me sold. I did use my Boots points for this though so was able to pick it up for free.

I hope you guys had a great bank holiday weekend
